# $GLDM

![](/files/zdGWAwxUFtMBietOqn2r)

GoldMint ($GLDM) is designed to be used as a medium of exchange. The built-in stability mechanism in the protocol aims to maintain GoldMint's peg to 1 troy gram of gold (1/31 PAXG) in the long run. Note that GLDM actively pegs via the algorithm, it does not mean it will be valued at 1 troy gram of gold or 1/31 PAXG Gold Synthetic Token at all times as it is not collateralized. GLDM is not to be confused for a crypto or fiat-backed stablecoin.
